The Mighty4 Day Festival began as a way to pay homage to the Bay Area community that supported the organization’s endeavors since its inception. The annual homecoming celebration brings elements of art, music, and dance to celebrate and highlight the Union City community.
Since 2012 the festival has successfully obtained an official proclamation from Mark Green, mayor of Union City, and has increased its attendee, vendor, and community partner base each year. With the addition of a health and community resource fair in alignment with the “Hip Hop, Health, and Hope” theme, we are adopting the tradition of preserving cultural longevity, and applying it to holistic longevity through health and wellness. The festival is a gathering where attendees walk away with invaluable connections from community based organizations in their community, all of which cultivate positive, long term impacts.
The festival also reflects the diversity of the East Bay tri-city area (Union City, Hayward, Fremont) by bringing together peoples of all cultural backgrounds, ages, and experiences in one space. The multi-disciplinary approach of music, dance, and visual arts will also expose Union City to authentic Hip Hop culture. There are currently no existing arts programs or events in Union City that match what the event does in highlighting the youth of the community, while providing relevant content for parents, families, and adults.
