A loving son, friend to many, and legendary Bboy Gerald Casterlow is commemorated in the first of Mighty4 Arts Foundation’s Hip Hop cultural and educational scholarship program. Also known as #PowerUpGerald, the Sacramento King was an inspiration to bboys and bgirls around the world by the age of 17. He spent years perfecting his craft, innovating moves for generations to follow, all while representing the Bay Area with Rock Force Crew (3rd generation). 1998 was a celebratory year, having won the Battle of the Year World Championship in Germany (as the last USA crew to take home the title), and an individual championship at the Rock Steady Crew Anniversary in New York. Shortly after the wins, Gerald was tragically shot in the head. Told he would never be able to walk again, Gerald defied the odds and gave his all to recover and dance again. In 2013 Gerald’s passing affected the hearts of family and friend around the world.

A true student of Hip Hop and loving brother to many, it is with great enthusiasm that Mighty4 carries on Gerald’s legacy through this scholarship program.
